Last week of January

Spelling Test results were much improved over last week. We had a test on "doubles" and "magic numbers". Three people got 100%. Great job! We will do this again in a couple of weeks' time, let's hope for a few more perfect tests.
Please remember Wednesday is 'library' day, books should be returned that day.
Also, Tuesday our class will be going curling again during gym class. Please remember to send in the "signed" blue forms ( if you haven't already), along with helmets, warm clothing and loose pants. The boys and girls are really enjoying learning to curl.
Please be reading with your child regularly, it makes such a difference.
Have a a great week!

Another week is yet upon us. Let us hope for a continuation of these milder temperatures.
The results of our Friday spelling test were not very good. We had colour words and only two students had them all correct. These words are grade one "no excuse" words and are all familiar to them.
We will be having a test on our "doubles" and "magic numbers" this Friday, practice, practice, practice.
A reminder that Drama will not be over until 3:15 pm. from now on. Please make arrangements to pick up your child at that time.
Tomorrow, January 20th is our trip to the curling rink. Mrs. Russell will take students there by bus and return after one hour. Please remember to have your child equipped with a helmet and warm clothing ( loose pants).
Have a great week.

Well as it turns out, one of our new students has returned to Ontario and the other did not arrive. There you go, back where we started. So let us hope for a regular week. Book orders will be sent in on Tuesday. Please keep reviewing "doubles" and "magic numbers" with your child, also remember to read regularly.
Elementary Drama has resumed.
Enjoy your week. The day length is increasing, yeah!

Happy New Year!

Here it is 2015! Hard to believe.
I hope everyone is rested and ready to embrace the new year. We welcome two new students, Marina Oweida and Brianna Doucette- Middleton, whom we have not yet met.
It is a four day week for students but we still will have our regular amount of home work. As always, please have your child read every day/ evening. Please start practicing and/or reviewing "doubles" and "magic numbers", there is a sheet with these in your child's homework duotang.. Please make sure your child returns his/her library book on or before Wednesday.
It looks like a cold week, bundle up for the playground.
