No spring this year, I guess.

We have another four day week this week. Friday, May 2nd is Subject Council Day in Moncton for Teachers, there will be no school for students that day. Also, Monday, May 5th we have NBTA/GMTA meetings here for teachers, no school for students. Subsequently I have been giving less homework.
Our spelling words this week are: before, its, then, from, after, cut, many, shall, way and plate.
Reading levels are moving up and many students have passed the "100 Book" mark. Please have homework in  on or before Thursday.
Have a good week.

Also, remember to use those "doubles" and "magic numbers" when adding.
Tonight at 6:30pm the Elementary Drama Club is performing. Tomorrow there will also be a 9:00 am performance for grades 3-5.Mrs. Jones and Ms. Toole and the boys have worked very hard. They will be travelling to Saint John on Wednesday.

Spring is "springing"

Lovely way to start the week weather-wise, I think it will be different tomorrow. The playground is quite muddy, we will need rubber boots for awhile.
Since we had no homework last week, we will have the "Easter" spelling words this week. Please see that your child is reading every night.
Book orders are due tomorrow, but I will wait until Wednesday to send in the order. "Jump Rope for Heart" is starting this week, please read the accompanying slip of paper explaining the rules.
We have started working on "comprehension" exercises in preparation for our May Literacy Assessment. Please be asking your child questions about the stories they are reading. Talk to them about predicting outcomes and "reading between the lines".
"Small Ball" is starting soon. I will send more info on that as we receive it.
Enjoy your week.
